The ADC Challenge
The ADC Challenge (Energy Savings Performance Contracting) or simply, Energy Auditing, is a way to reduce energy use and cost, renew facilities and building systems without expending initial capital funds. Under an SfSS (Solutions for Savings Sheet), Advance Design Consultants pays all costs involved in identifying “solutions for savings”. A formal report is then delivered to the customer for review, acceptance and selection. ADC is compensated by receiving a share of the cost savings resulting from these improvements over a set term. At the end of the Energy Savings Performance Contract, the Customer owns all of the improvements and receives all of the continuing savings.
What does “ADC” Stand for:
- Assessment – Facility walk-through, Documentation and Calculations
- Documentation – Solutions for Savings Sheet (SfSS)
- Conservation – Quality, Schedule, Budget
What does it equal:
- Energy Savings
- Costs Savings
- Carbon Foot Print Reduction
- Positive PR
- and Ultimately Expenditure Justification
What will ADC Provide:
- Energy Savings Feasibility Study,
- Equipment/Material Modifications/Upgrades (Capital Investment),
- PG&E Rebate Application and Acceptance,
- Cad Design of Upgrades/Modifications,
- Construction Management Services,
- Construction and Implementation
Advance Design Consultants will work collaboratively with you to identify and implement capital projects and operational modifications that reduce the ownership, operations and maintenance costs of energy-consuming systems and equipment. We’ll also identify any applicable utility, state or federal incentive programs and estimated incentive amounts for identified measures.
ADC will assess information about the facility’s energy use and demand, individual contributions of electrical and mechanical systems and opportunities for measures and retrofits which facilitate integrated energy management. ADC has a host of measurement instruments at its disposal to take realtime and datalog measurements to evaluate actual system performance and troubleshoot problems.
Based on the information gathered and assessed by ADC during the audit, we will identify and analyze energy conservation and energy-efficiency opportunities that will produce immediate and long-term peak-period kW demand savings, annual kWh savings and annual therm savings.
ADC will provide this breakdown on a “Solution for Savings Sheet” (SfSS), which will identify two levels of savings:
- Tier 1 Capital Projects and Operational Modifications – Zero to Minimal Monetary Investment
- Tier 2 Capital Projects and Operational Modifications – Medium to High Monetary Investment
